COURT SLAM: Federal Judge Strikes Down Marco Rubio's Xenophobic Visa Freeze

The The Grio reports:

Marco Rubio thought he could play king and rubber-stamp Trump’s xenophobic agenda by locking out immigrants from 75 nations. A federal judge just reminded Little Marco that executive overreach and arbitrary cruelty still carry a legal expiration date. Turns out, violating federal law to appease anti-immigrant zealots has actual consequences.

A federal judge ruled that Secretary of State Marco Rubio exceeded his authority by suspending immigrant visas based on applicants’ country of origin, striking down a sweeping Trump administration policy that sought to freeze visa processing for 75 countries. The court found that the State Department lacked statutory authorization under federal immigration law to implement such a broad, discriminatory ban without explicit congressional approval.

Rubio can keep auditioning for Trump’s favor, but the courts aren’t buying the blatant statutory abuse. Next time, try reading the Constitution before trying to shut the door on the Global South.
