As another Voting Rights Act anniversary passes, conservative politicians are still working overtime to roll back our access to the ballot. Mainstream media pretends democracy is fine, but civil rights advocates know the war on Black voters is escalating.

Sixty-one years ago, our nation passed the Voting Rights Act – landmark legislation designed to remedy a deep history of systemic disenfranchisement and protect equal access to the ballot box for Black Americans.
